Fondamentalmente è un sintetizzatore con una catena di sintesi versatile, ma molto complessa da gestire. Rispetto ai canoni attuali ha una polifonia piuttosto ridotta (48 voci). Oggi non lo acquisterei per due motivi: 1) la curva di apprendimento MOLTO ripida (anche se è possibile trovare molti suoni già sviluppati da altri, non sempre gratuiti però) 2) la difficoltà di trovare i pezzi di ricambio, in caso di guasti.
Se vuoi proprio sbattere la testa sulla VAST, orientati verso il PC3K che è un modello successivo e importa i suoni della serie K2xx.
